My experience was that anointed ones were viewed as crackpots most of the time. Sorry you had to go through that TBK.

Did You Feel Special Because You Were An Elder or Friend or Family Of?
by minimus infor many families, they received the golden ticket once a family member became an elder.
the glory and admiration of being an elder seeped right thru to all the elder’s connections.
if you got into some trouble, having an elder friend or relative could give you the stay out of jail card.

The Light Actually IS Getting Brighter
by Magnum inthe light really is getting brighter, but what kind?
i can think of three types of figurative light in this context:.
1) that which jws refer to and they base on pr 4:18. light on a path... light that gets brighter.

WT leadership are like roaches. When you shine a light on them they start scurrying for a hole to climb into.
I once showed up with a friend of mine on a Saturday morning at a KH. We got lucky and the Circuit Overseer was leading the pre-field service meeting. I explained how we were from such and such church nearby and wanted to ask some bible questions.
The CO explained that he could not meet with us because he was leading the group into field service. I explained that we were the kind of people they were seeking and would be happy to talk about their beliefs. He refused to set up a time to meet with us and only agreed to take our phone number and meet with us later that afternoon. Of course we all knew he was lying.
He never called. Thanks to all the hard work of activists, the light IS getting brighter!

Shunning from different perspectives

this interesting article on abc australia covers views of people ex-communicated or shunned by a couple of institutions.
it also includes paul grundy's experience.. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-25/the-australians-who-were-cast-out-of-their-religions/100306930.

It’s not far-fetch to believe that the Creator lived long enough to “Create” life on earth and then died.
This was the basis of religion prior to the flood. Ancient scrolls reveal how the fallen angels taught that there once was a Creator God, but he emptied himself into his creation when he created everything until he was either no more, or powerless. (Doctrine of Emanations) So, by default the fallen angels were worshipped as gods since the original creator-god was supposedly missing in action.
As more and more science makes Darwinism and naturalistic origins implausible, many are keeping a watch on secularism's embrace of "aliens" and such. The book Ancient Paganism is a good read on this topic.
There is nothing new under the sun. -

From Real Science Radio:
Scientific Evidence
- Today two miles of water covering two-thirds of Earth, enough to overtop the early lower mountains.
- An average of more than a mile deep of sedimentary layers on the continents.
- Trillions of dead things (i.e., hard-to-form fossils) laid down by water in strata all over graveyard Earth.
- The documented Permian extinction event destroyed 90% of all multicellular marine species.
- A documented genetic bottleneck for man and 90% of all animals far more recent than a million years ago.
- While NASA presumes there may have been a near global flood on virtually bone-dry Mars, secularists ignore the sufficient water in our own two-mile deep oceans which could easily cover the Earth (with lower pre-flood mountains).
- All major mountain ranges have marine fossils atop them including on Everest, the Rockies, etc., (excepting volcanoes of course), of fish, clams, marine mammals, sea lilies, even whales high in the Andes, etc.
- The general pattern of fossil progression (see below) matches flood burial from the Precambrian layer's seabed bottom-dwelling creatures like trilobites up through the Jurassic and higher layer birds. So, maybe we are not forked after all!

Research how much water it would take to cover the entire planet. The amount is so great that it would increase the mass of the earth, this changing the earth's orbit.
I think all the water for the Flood was already here: "fountains of the great deep burst open". Even today scientists have discovered vast oceans under the surface of our little planet we call home.
It certainly looks like a flooded planet from space from certain angles:
Impossible? Pictures like this kinda do it for me... from a plausibility standpoint. But, there is much other evidence as well.
Doubtless, some of the same scientists that deny a global flood are certain that Mars was totally covered by water at one time.
Well, that's awkward.

I much appreciate Paul Grundy's website www.jwfacts.com
In the article you cite, He describes himself as an agnostic making this statement:
"Today I'm 'agnostic' … I think the whole discussion of whether there's a God or not is completely meaningless, because God doesn't reveal himself, no one knows who he is."
The entire Christian faith is centered on a man named "God" who taught mind-boggling concepts of peace, grace and redemption and then walked out of a tomb after being publicly killed. That's pretty revealing.
I think Paul Grundy doesn't like who God revealed himself to be. I hope he changes his mind. I kinda like Mr. Grundy.

Serious Question: Are You Hearing About Anyone With The Flu Anymore or A Cold?
by minimus infor years everyone was told they had to get the flu shot.
because the flu was dangerous and it could even kill you.
now, hardly anyone talks about the flu or having a cold.

Some are saying big lawsuits are coming. Problem is that these guys seem to have unlimited sums of money that can be used to theoretically just pay people off who cause trouble.

Promise Not to Make Appeals for Money
by Sea Breeze in"when he who says: ‘all the gold and silver of the mountains are mine,’ fails to provide necessary funds, we will understand it to be time to suspend the [watchtower] publication.” consistent with that, there is no begging for money in the literature of jehovah’s witnesses.. what is true of their literature is also true of their meetings.
there are no emotional appeals for funds in their congregations or at their conventions.

Overrated, It is difficult to convey nuance with just writing, I apologize. I was being facetious. Thank you for your contribution to this topic.
I was usually troubled by the begging for money at the assemblies. It was easy for me to do the math. If attendance was 3500 and each only contributed $10 that comes to 35 grand. That seemed more than enough to me for a two day rental.
Does anyone know if they were still begging for money at the Assembly Hall conventions after they were built with free labor?
